If you can’t take the heat……

Posted: December 21st, 2010 by rita_admin

Posted: October 29th, 2010 by rita_admin

My friend says  that if she had her way, she would add more hours to the day…however, I beg to differ since I know I ‘d find a way to fill them.  It seems the world is spinning faster and faster.  I sometimes feel like a hamster running on a spinning wheel only to find [...]

Families are such complex and intricate tapestries and yet one loose thread can unravel the entire dynasty.  Why is it that it’s so easy to not speak to another family  member over something as simple as a misinterpreted remark that wouldn’t in the outside world be given a second thought?  Or at best would be [...]

The Long Hot Summer

Posted: August 13th, 2010 by rita_admin

It’s August, for cryin’ out loud…..I can remember summer after summer of this prolonged heat.Sleeping with my head on the windowsill in the living room because the upstairs bedrooms were too steamy.  All that was before air-conditioning.  Is it global warming or is the weather pattern on this planet just cyclical by nature. We work [...]

America – My Love

Posted: July 8th, 2010 by rita_admin

“Stand beside her, and guide her, through the night, with the light from above”….what a beautiful thought! To me it evokes feelings of warmth, safety and security.  And then I look around, read the newspapers, watch some TV (never before going to sleep, it’s too scary) and listen to and/or participate in the conversations around [...]

Posted: June 30th, 2010 by rita_admin

Let’s just talk!

Posted: June 23rd, 2010 by

People on cell phones, laptops, IPADS… Doesn’t anyone talk anymore? There wasn’t even TV until I was six. Then it was only Wrestling, followed by “I Love Lucy”, “Ed Sullivan”, and “Perry Como”.  So began decades of individual isolation. I am writing a BLOG and I don’t even know what that stands for….there are so [...]

Rainy Day in Uptown Kingston

Posted: June 11th, 2010 by rita_admin

The rain doesn’t seem to stop the cars from racing down North Front Street to beat the red light, though. Oh, how I hate that traffic light. It doesn’t give anyone a chance to glance around and appreciate the wonders of historic Uptown.
