Hair Today... Coffee Tomorrow
Rainy Day in Uptown Kingston
Date: Friday, June 11th, 2010 at 6:14 pm | Category: Coffee Break
It’s really a cold, rainy day. I can’t believe it’s June. The cafe’s humming…more and more people in and out all day long…right now I’m so cozy: listening to soft music, sipping a cup of decaf black tea and watching the panoramic view that presents itself outside the cafe windows. The colorful yellow and blue umbrella’s that Maxwell’s has in their new outdoor cafe look so forlorn all closed down and dripping with the steady rain that’s falling. There is one good thing about the rain…it fills up my pool.
The rain doesn’t seem to stop the cars from racing down North Front Street to beat the red light, though. Oh, how I hate that traffic light. It doesn’t give anyone a chance to glance around and appreciate the wonders of historic Uptown. We have such a unique array of boutiques, restaurants and galleries. Of course, if someone would just rip down the Pike Plan (as one of the restaurant owners suggested), maybe all the passing traffic would become aware of what we have to offer.
Must get back to work now….that’s where the “Hair Today” comes from….someone has to support a new up and coming cafe that is taking the Hudson Valley by storm.
